IRIS Computer Audio — Privacy Policy

IRIS Computer Audio is a companion browser extension for the IRIS app on Even Realities G2 smart glasses. It transcribes the audio of one browser tab you choose — an online call, a lecture, a video, anything the tab plays — so the words appear in your live IRIS session as the "Remote" speaker. It can also send a still image of a tab when you ask it to.

What it accesses

Only after you press Start, and only for the single tab you chose, the extension captures that tab's audio. Capture ends the moment you press Stop, close the tab, or leave it silent for ten minutes.

Separately, when you press Send this screen to my glasses, the extension captures one still image of the tab you are looking at, at that moment. This is a picture of what is on that page. Nothing is captured unless you press that button, and no image is ever taken automatically.

The extension does not use your microphone or camera, does not read or alter the text of any page, and does not access other tabs, your files, or your browsing history.

How it is used

Captured audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to the IRIS service, where it is converted to text in real time by a third-party speech-to-text provider under a business agreement. A screenshot you send is passed to a third-party AI provider so it can be read and answered, and the answer is returned to your glasses. Each is used for that one purpose only, and our providers do not use your content to train their models.

Retention

• Audio is processed as a live stream and is not stored by IRIS.
• The resulting text is held briefly on IRIS servers — it is filtered out after about 15 minutes and the whole channel is deleted automatically about a minute after that — solely to hand it to your own phone, where it becomes part of your session transcript, data that belongs to you, on your device.
• A screenshot is held only until your phone collects it, and in any case no longer than 10 minutes, after which it is deleted automatically. It is not added to any archive and is not kept once the answer has been delivered.
• Your IRIS pairing, made once with a six-character code, is stored in your browser profile and sent with each request to verify your subscription.

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with third parties beyond the processing described above. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics in the extension.

Your responsibility

Depending on where you live, recording or transcribing a conversation may require the other participants' consent. A screenshot may also contain other people's information, or material you are not free to copy. You are responsible for using this in line with your local laws and meeting etiquette.
